Southwell mourns the recent passing of Mrs. Anita Stewart “Priss” Stovall at the age of 99.
Mrs. Anita was a familiar face to many at Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC). A native of Enigma, Mrs. Anita was a big supporter of TRMC in so many ways. She volunteered as a Pink Lady for a number of years and was also a significant contributor to TRMC’s cancer care program.
Thanks to a substantial endowment made by Mrs. Anita to the TRMC Foundation, Tift Regional’s freestanding cancer care facility on Madison Avenue was officially renamed the TRMC Anita Stewart Oncology Center in 2014.
“Mrs. Anita made a generous contribution to our oncology program after her husband passed away from cancer,” said Mandy Brooks, Director of the TRMC Foundation. “She wanted to give back to the community and help other families who were facing difficult times. She was determined to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Even though Mrs. Anita is no longer with us, she will continue to have a positive impact on our hospital and community.”
Southwell, TRMC, and the TRMC Foundation extends its heart-felt condolences to Mrs. Anita’s family.
