The Mayo Clinic presented ear, nose and throat (ENT) resident Dontre’ Douse, M.D. with the Golden Skull Award. Dr. Douse received this honor for earning the highest in-service board exam score in his residency training program and reaching the 96th percentile in the nation of all ENT residents who tested.
“I’m truly humbled and honored to receive this award and I hope that this will serve as a testament, not just to my dedication to the field, but to the level of care I hope to provide for my future patients,” he said.
Dr. Douse, who will begin practicing in Tifton with Southwell in September 2025, is currently receiving residency training in head and neck surgery at the Mayo Clinic’s main campus in Rochester, Minnesota. Upon completion of this residency training, Dr. Douse will do an intensive mini-fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction in India. A Georgia native, Dr. Douse earned his medical degree from the Mercer School of Medicine in Savannah.
