Comfort, Safety, and Support for Every Pregnancy

Modern care in a welcoming, family focused setting.

At Tift Regional Medical Center, we’re honored to be part of this important moment in your life. This guide is here to answer common questions about your stay and delivery. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and prepared to welcome your baby.

What Makes Our Birthing Center Different?

The Birthing Center at Tift Regional offers newly renovated delivery rooms designed for comfort and privacy.

Our family-centered approach keeps your baby in the room with you to support bonding, while care is provided by an experienced team of midwives and physicians. For added peace of mind, we offer an on-site Level II nursery and specialized services for babies who need extra attention, along with Level II Maternal Care dedicated to supporting moms with high-risk pregnancies.

Planning your Birth Experience

When you arrive for your labor and delivery, please park in the lot in front of the Emergency Department. You will report to the Emergency Department desk. Let the staff know that you are there for Labor and Delivery, and our staff will come meet you to transport you to the Birthing Center.

Our renovated labor and delivery rooms are designed for comfort, privacy, and mobility. Wireless monitoring allows you to move freely while still keeping baby safe.

We support every mom’s birth preferences. You are welcome to labor without medication, or you can choose IV pain medication or an epidural. Our team will talk through your options and help you decide what feels right for you.

Yes. We offer a range of maternity classes on childbirth, newborn care, and breastfeeding. You’ll also have access to TIGR, our in-room video education system.

Our on-site Maternal Fetal Medicine team provides specialized care and monitoring for high-risk pregnancies. As a Level II Maternal Care Center, we’re equipped to manage complications with advanced monitoring and treatment, often without requiring extended hospital stays.

During labor, up to four visitors are allowed in the room during active labor. We encourage visitors to be mindful of mom’s need for rest and privacy throughout the process. After delivery, visitors are welcome according to our standard visitor guidelines. Children under 12 may visit only if they are siblings of the newborn. We also ask that all visitors are free of symptoms and have not been ill within the past week to help protect mom and baby.
