The Tiftarea YMCA will hold its annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This event, sponsored by Affinity Pediatrics, is free and open to the public. The Tiftarea YMCA is located in Tifton at 1657 S. Carpenter Road.
“We encourage area residents to join us for Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s annual event to help improve the health and well-being of children and families,” said Jill Haman, Programs Manager for the Tiftarea YMCA. “At the Y, we believe in the potential of all children and we work hard each day to help kids find that potential within themselves. Healthy Kids Day is a fun, free community-wide event to kick off summer and remind us all how important it is for kids to stay active physically and mentally throughout the summer.”
Haman said the event will feature outside kids’ activities, including karate, soccer, and horses. Affinity Pediatrics, a service of Southwell, will also be sponsoring a rock climbing wall. Attendees can also meet and take photos with Star Wars characters from the Georgia 501st Garrison.
“In addition, the Y and our community partners will be offering free medical screenings for kids, health and wellness information, and access to community resources,” said Haman. “Attendees can also take advantage of special discounts on YMCA memberships and programs. So, please join us for this special day.”
