Southwell is proud to continue their partnership with LifeLink® of Georgia and Donate Life America by dedicating two roses which were placed in vials on the 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float.
Christopher Dorman, President and CEO of Southwell and Jay Carmichael, COO of Southwell Medical in Adel, shared personal messages of hope and remembrance honoring donors, recipients, and others who have been touched by organ, eye and tissue donation. This rose will join thousands of others to create a dedication garden that is a featured design element on the float each year.
The 2025 Rose Parade® theme, Best Day Ever, celebrates life’s best moments – those unexpected times that bring a smile, warm our hearts and fill us with joy. While for donor families losing a loved one represents one of the most difficult moments of their lives, organ, eye and tissue donation brings a ray of hope to see their loved ones live on in others. For transplant recipients, donation gives them bittersweet feelings of happiness for receiving the gift of life, gratitude to their donor and grief for the donor family’s loss. Celebrating its 22nd, the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float continues its mission to save and heal lives by sharing the gift of life and delivering the message of organ, eye and tissue donation to the world.
The 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life float’s themed, Let Your Life Soar, features a vibrant scene inspired by the beloved Japanese celebration of Children’s Day. This year’s float honors tradition, family and love within the donation and transplantation community. Tune in on January 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. EST to watch the Rose Parade and see the OneLegacy Donate Life float!
In the United States today there are over 100,000 people waiting for a life-saving organ, and hundreds of thousands more whose lives could be healed through eye and tissue transplantation. A single organ and tissue donor can save up to eight lives and heal as many as 75 more. Individuals can register their donation decision at Donate Life Georgia or when obtaining or renewing a driver license. Further information about the OneLegacy Donate Life float, decorating, and facts about donation and transplantation can be found at www.donatelifefloat.org.
