Southwell’s patient portal now offers notifications

This includes text alerts, email messages and push notifications

Southwell announced that the MySouthwell Patient Portal has rolled out a new notification feature to keep users informed of any updates to electronic health records.  Southwell includes Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Southwell Medical and Southwell Health and Rehabilitation in Adel, and Southwell’s physician clinics located throughout South Central Georgia.

“MySouthwell Patient Portal users can now receive notifications via text, email, or mobile app push notifications,” said Beth Ryther, Southwell System Director of Service Excellence.  “Notifications are sent out when there are new secure messages, COVID-19 results, clinical notes, documents, and lab, pathology, and radiology results.”

Ryther said the MySouthwell Patient Portal is a convenient and secure health-management tool that patients can use anywhere they have access to the internet.

“Through the portal, patients can correspond with their provider team, request an appointment with a primary care provider, ask for a prescription renewal, access their electronic health record, and make an online payment,” said Ryther.

There are two ways to enroll in the MySouthwell Patient Portal.  Patients can request an email invitation during their next visit to a Southwell clinic or facility, or they can self-enroll here.

“To utilize the MySouthwell Patient Portal on a mobile device, patients can visit the Apple or Android app store and download the HealtheLife app for free,” said Ryther.

She added that the portal’s new notification feature is a just a part of Southwell’s ongoing journey to enhance communication with patients.  “We are always seeking ways to make access to secure health information for patients more convenient and timely,” Ryther stated.
